Minutes

Attendance: K Olson, A Carradice, J Willhite, H Anderson, J Boisvert, C Stamler,

D McCormick.

Review of Previous Minutes:

Lunch program:

- application for Student Nourishment Program. Deadline was Oct 15, by Anne and Kendall.

Terry Fox Run:

- concerns arose that Terry Fox Run could be supervised better. Next year the Town could be approached to set a closed route for increased safety of the various age groups participating.

Peer Mediation:

- program will be implemented within the next few weeks.

Election of Council Members:

Chair: Heather Anderson

Vice Chair: Diane McCormick

Secretary: Jodi Boisvert

Member at Large: Crystal Stamler

- Discuss need to get more parental involvement in the school council. Possibility of an email list to inform parents of upcoming meetings and agenda. The agenda for the upcoming meeting to go out in newsletter.

Best Start Program:

- to implement a wrap-around day care system within the school system. The Board of Education will rent out space within the school to provide space to run the program. Intent of the Board to house the program in the Riverview School building and place the grade 7 & 8 in the high school for their classes. Meeting to discuss options or concerns with the Board of Education to follow.

Lunch Program Update:

- Schedule: Lunch program is currently running 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Would like to have program running 5 days per week eventually. Lisa is doing a great job.

- Funding: Student Nourishment Program application by Oct 15/05.

Principal’s / Vice-Principal’s Report:

Assembly: Continue the monthly assembly with each grade responsible for an assembly.
